Job Hunting

These past couple of days has been devoted for job hunting and training. Its time for me to start working out on a regular basis again after many months of bumming around, I just hope I can sustain my training program now that I have started.

And what It comes to job hunting, no new news. I applied for a couple of jobs yesterday, and last night I got an answer from one of them and it wasn't good. They already fulfilled the position that I was wanting. So its just for me to continue searching and not not give up. Before I came here I had goals that I wanted to achieve during my stay, and damn I'm going to achieve them! I am not going anywhere til I fulfill them and make the best out of my stay here! I just need to be stubborn and goal oriented and I guess everything will work it self out sooner or later.

Phillip Island

Miljanas Last Week In Melbourne

Phillip Island was a wonderful place. Our first trip was Churchill Island where we saw farm animals, kitchen gardens and cute little old houses. Next stop was the Koala Conservation Center where we saw koalas, wallabies and different kind of birds. I really liked the park because it was animal friendly; it had huge space for the animals to move on and the fact that they only had native animals in their natural habitat. Last but certainly not least, we saw one of the cutest animals in the world, the little penguin emerge from the sea and waddle ashore to their sand dune burrows (we weren't allowed to take pictures of the penguins coming up the water so I downloaded a picture from the net so I can show you how cute they are). To have the opportunity to see wild animals in their natural environment then caged up at zoos, is a huge satisfaction for me.

On Tuesday, Rita took us to Warburton, a mountain with beautiful fern tree forest (looked like Jurassic park forest). We even had the chance to see the rare and shy Lyrebird running around the road (see picture above). I also ate the best cup cake in the world at Warburton; caramel muffin with chocolate chips in it, yummy! So I am definitely going back there to svulla some more =) Later that day we had birthday dinner with Phillips unkle at a restaurant with the best calamari rings. What would life be without delicious food?!

On Wednesday, I showed Miljana the last part of the city, the parks, Yarra river and the pub.
Thursday and Friday had real beach weather, so we spent the days on St Kilda beach and on some other beach I cant remember the name of. Perfect ending on Miljanas holiday. She left for Sweden yesterday night, so she should be home later today. I hope she enjoyed the stay here and that she absorbed as much sun as she possible could to survive the last dark weeks in Sweden.

Sydney!!!

The last week has been full of happenings and birthdays. Last Friday night, Erika and Angie had a birthday party at a really nice beach house that they rented (well it wasn't so pretty the day after with vomit and trash everywhere), and this Friday was Tanya's turn to celebrate her birthday and we did it by going out and partying at the famous Crown. It was an awesome night, mostly because I won a 30 dollar drinking ticket (that was pretty shocking considering that i NEVER have luck in anything), so we got pretty smashed.
We have also spent our Sunday driving to the 12 apostles. I remember the beautiful trip from last time I was here. If anyone decides to come to visit Australia, you just have to take a trip along the coast. The scenery is just amazing. I will upload pictures when ever my computer is ready to cooperate with me and lets me upload pictures.

The trip to Sydney started on Monday and ended on Thursday night. We stayed at our childhood friends place that we haven't seen in like 20 years. It was a happy surprise to see how beautiful people they are so we had a great time with them. Me and Miljana got to see both the city and the nature around it. Some of the places we visited was the Opera house, Harbour Bridge, Darling harbour, Manly and Bondi beach, the Queen Victoria building, Botanical garden and the Royal National Park. I fell in love with Sydney almost instantly. The city itself is so much prettier and intresting then Melbourne. I dont know if that has to do with the fact that I live here and am kind of sick of it or I dont know. Something that I know for sure is that I am definitely going back to Sydney to see all the places that I havent had the chance to see.

Tomorrow we are going to see wild penguines at Phillip Island. I just hope the weather is going to let us do that. Can't wait =)

Invaders Must Die!

I am just now listening to my brand new Prodigy CD, Invaders Must Die, (that i ordered a month and a half ago!!) and I am sooo happy! I also got a DVD with it that i have to look at. Weee!
And over to some bad news, i still haven't got any job, which is starting to get pretty frustrating. I am used to do things all the time back in Sweden, and now when i don't have anything to do, I'm slowly getting more and more crazy! I have not even heard anything from the animal shelter place for my volunteer work, which I find pretty weird. I am offering to help for no money in return and they don't even want that..! The world have gone mad!
Luckily I have my sister here now so I have someone to do stuff with. We have been pretty busy doing things every day which is good. We have been to a really nice place near the coast called Dromana and op shopped all day with Rita (shopped second hand clothes and accessories for REALLY cheap). The past two days, we have been exploring the city by ourselves, walking around, watching a movie at Imax and going to the Melbourne Museum. The weather has been really shit the past couple of days (raining all the time) so we had to find stuff to do indoors.
Yesterday we were out clubbing with Estelle and Tanya at this place near by. The music was good and the beer was pretty cheap...with other words, my kind of place. Me and sis have also booked a trip to Sydney, which we are going to on Monday to Thursday next week. That means one more city to explore and stuff for me to do, thank god!

Sisters First Week In Aussie Land

Sorry for not writing in a while. I don't have any good excuses other then I have been a lazy ass. My sister came a week ago and since then we have had time to do a lot of things. We have for example gone to the beach, to shopping center and worked out at 1000 steps. I even had time to catch a cold during this week which I think was all Phillips fault. He brought the germs into this house...grr!
This Friday we went to the Soundwave Festival with Julian and we saw among others, Alice In Chains, NIN and Bloodhound Gang. Alice were great and their new singer rocks! Bloodhound were pretty good themselves and very entertaining. Most of Saturday went by with us not doing anything at home. The only fun thing was when we went to cinema to watch Changeling (I think it was called that..?) and at night when we went to a night club to celebrate one of Phillips friends. The Sunday was spent in Weeribee open range zoo where we saw all kinds of animals and later that day we listened and watched African dance and songs from Rythm of Africa. Todays plans are going to Mount Dandenong to see the beautiful nature, have a picknick and taking photos. But before that, I have a lot of drinking tea to do.
